Join a lively discussion group focused on history! Members are asked to read a book or article on the monthly topic and be prepared to tell the group about it, or just listen and learn. New members are welcome to join and experience history from many points of view on one topic - no other history book club offers this unique approach!

May Topic: Advancement of Mass Transportation in North America

Everyone is welcome, whether they read a book and want to share or they just want to listen and learn!

Participants should read a nonfiction book of their choosing related to an Advancement of Mass Transportation in North America.  The topic can range anywhere from the Golden Age of railway to roads and infrastructure connecting people and products, to the forgotten days of canal transport.  Perhaps look no further than under the streets of Boston for topic inspiration!  Join in at the meeting to share your findings with the group or, if curious to see what a meeting is like, just come and listen.

Need help finding a book?  There is a sampling of books available through the library which may get you started.  When in doubt, please contact the library (melref@noblenet.org or 781-665-2313).  In addition to accessing physical books through our Front Door Pickup Service, the library also offers e-books and e-audiobooks through Overdrive/Libby and Hoopla!

The meeting will be held through the remote conferencing platform, Zoom.  If you would like to join in, please register online by Tuesday, May 4th so that you will receive an invitation via email to join the meeting!
