VIRTUAL History Book Group (Adults)

Wednesday, June 27:00—8:45 PMOnlineVIRTUAL , , , MA, 02176

Join a lively discussion group focused on history! Members are asked to read a book or article on the monthly topic and be prepared to tell the group about it, or just listen and learn. New members are welcome to join and experience history from many points of view on one topic - no other history book club offers this unique approach!

Every now and then the group likes to mix things up!

This month the topic will be Wildcard Biography: North American Edition.

Participants should read a biography or autobiography of their choosing related to any person, from any time period; the only caveat is that they must be from North America (in the future there will be a Wildcard Biography International Addition!).  Perhaps you have always wanted to know more about a historic figure, a contemporary in the news,  or even just discover about the life journey someone else has lived.  Now is your time to choose a person and get to know them a bit more.  Join in at the meeting to share your findings with the group or, if curious to see what a meeting is like, just come and listen.

Need help finding a book?  There is a sampling of new biographiesavailable through the library which may get you started.  When in doubt, please contact the library (melref@noblenet.org or 781-665-2313).  In addition to accessing physical books through our Front Door Pickup Service, starting Monday, May 10, the library will offer in-person library visits by appointment.  The library also offers e-books and e-audiobooks through Overdrive/Libby and Hoopla.

The meeting will be held through the remote conferencing platform, Zoom.  If you would like to join in, please register online by Tuesday, June 1 so that you will receive an invitation via email to join the meeting!

Registration for this event has now closed.
