Join a lively discussion group focused on history! Members are asked to read a book or article on the monthly topic and be prepared to tell the group about it, or just listen and learn. New members are welcome to join and experience history from many points of view on one topic - no other history book club offers this unique approach!

October Topic: Witch Trials

In Person/Zoom Hybrid Meeting

Everyone is welcome, whether they read a book and want to share or they just want to listen and learn!

Participants should choose a nonfiction title focusing on a historic witch trial or trials.  Most famously in our neck of the woods are the Salem Witch Trials, however, others were held earlier in Europe as well as in other parts of the world.  Perhaps you want to explore more in detail about what went on in Old Salem Village or discover other witch hysteria that occurred elsewhere.

Need help finding a book?  Checkout a sampling of Melrose-owned books available through the library to get you started.  When in doubt, please contact the library (melref@noblenet.org or 781-665-2313).  The library is once again open to patrons, no appointments needed so come roam the stacks!  Alternatively, the library also offers e-books and e-audiobooks through Overdrive/Libby and Hoopla.

The in person meeting will take place on the main floor in the Dennis J. Kelley Room, located off of the main check out area.  For those not able to attend in person, we are also offering remote access via Zoom.  Regardless of how you will be attending, please sign up below so the library can accommodate all those planning to participate.

Amid rising COVID-19 cases across the state, Mayor Paul Brodeur announced that masks will be required in all municipal buildings beginning Monday, August 16th. Masks must be worn by all employees and visitors.

Registration for this event has now closed.
