VIRTUAL The Adventures of a 70 -Year-Old Veteran Walking Across America (Adult)

Thursday, May 277:00—9:00 PMOnlineVIRTUAL , , , MA, 02176

The Melrose Public Library and Melrose Veterans’ Services are excited to share one veteran's story of making a difference for others as we near Memorial Day.

U.S. Air Force veteran William Shuttleworth started a national conversation when he walked from Newburyport, MA to the Vandenberg Air Force base in San Diego, CA in 2019.  Walking for 109 days and 3,000 miles, he made this trek to bring attention to veteran's issues such as housing and healthcare.  His walk may be over, but his desire to help fellow veterans has not waned.  William will share stories and pictures about the experiences he had and the people he met along his walk.  To learn more about William, visit his website.

This event will be held through the remote conferencing platform, Zoom. Please register online by Wednesday, May 26th.  Registrants will receive a link to access the Zoom meeting via email the morning of the event.

This program was made possible by the generosity of the Friends of the Melrose Public Library.
