Founded in 1913 by the Science Teachers’ Bureau, the Boston Children’s Museum is the second oldest children’s museum in the world and one of the few that maintain a collection. Designed for both children and families, the Museum exhibits focus on science, culture, environmental awareness, health & fitness, and the arts, emphasizing hands-on engagement and learning through experience, and employing play as a tool to spark the inherent creativity, curiosity, and imagination of children.

Pass Benefits

The library’s pass admits up to 4 people at half price. Children under 12 months are admitted free. Target Fridays from 5 - 9 PM admission is $1.00. Boston Children's Museum current admission prices and special hours.

LOAN INSTRUCTIONS: This coupon pass may be picked up at the library any time after your reservation is made and does not need to be returned to the library. Please bring your library card or ID when picking up the pass. Any applicable co-pay fees are collected at the museum.

Einstein’s Workshop provides hands-on STEAM Learning (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) for children K-8 at weekly classes and a drop-in exploration space. The drop-in space has a variety of tools and toys, which include LEGOs, K’nex, Zome, Snap Circuits, Kapla blocks, Anker blocks, MagnaTiles, and more. Access to innovative tools, such as 3D printers and a laser cutter, is provided through classes and workshops on such topics as robotics, electronics design, Minecraft engineering and architecture, and 3D design and programming.

Pass Benefits

The library’s pass admits up to up to 5 children (accompanied by an adult) for free two hour drop - in visits on Saturday and Sunday only. (not good for classes) Passes not available on Mondays through Fridays, and are not available from June 10 until September 13. Einstein Workshop current hours and drop - in prices.

LOAN INSTRUCTIONS: This returnable pass must be picked up at the library on the “day of use” or the day before. Please bring your library card or ID when picking up the pass.  Return the pass to the Main Desk or the outside book drop before the library opens on its next scheduled day to allow other patrons to use the pass.
