Boston By Foot has presented walking tours of Boston since 1976. Dedicated to promoting public awareness and appreciation of Boston's rich history and architectural heritage, their guided tours and programs are conducted by a dedicated corps of over 200 volunteer tour guides. Check their website for a list of available tours, most of which take 90 minutes.

MELROSE PUBLIC LIBRARY - BOSTON BY FOOT

1.   Visit the Boston by Foot website to view available tours and schedules.  The library pass reservation calendar may not reflect changes to open dates and hours of operation.  The library pass does not guarantee admission on a chosen date.

2.   Reserve the MPL Library Pass for desired date.  The pass provides free admission to most walking tours for up to 5 attendees.

3.  You will receive a confirmation email with a  "Access Pass" link.

4.   Go to the Boston By Foot website to pre-register for your desired tour (pre-registration is required for all tours).  Enter  the library discount code (located under the barcode on the pass) in the discount code box for each individual ticket. 

Note:  Discount is not valid for private tours, annual celebration tours (Footloose on the Freedom Trail/Beacon Hill with a BOO!), or water-based tours.

Founded in 1913 by the Science Teachers’ Bureau, the Boston Children’s Museum is the second oldest children’s museum in the world and one of the few that maintain a collection. Designed for both children and families, the Museum exhibits focus on science, culture, environmental awareness, health & fitness, and the arts, emphasizing hands-on engagement and learning through experience, and employing play as a tool to spark the inherent creativity, curiosity, and imagination of children.

1.  Reserve Melrose Public Library pass for desired date.
2.  You will receive a confirmation email with a "Access Pass" link.  Print the pass or save it digitally to your smartphone.  
3.  Pre-purchase your discounted tickets online.  Select "Discount Programs" and use the drop down arrow, click on "Half Price Library Timed Ticket" to reserve your timed ticket(s).  The date on the Library Discount Coupon must match the date of museum visit.  
4.  Bring confirmation of both the library pass and timed tickets when you visit.

The Harvard Museums of Science & Culture is a partnership of museums on the Harvard University Cambridge campus dedicated to the natural world, science, and human cultures. They include the Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments, the Harvard Museum of Natural History (comprised of the Harvard University Herbaria, Mineralogical and Geological Museum, and Museum of Comparative Zoology), the Harvard Museum of the Ancient Near East, and the Peabody Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology, all located between Oxford St./Divinity Ave area. Of particular note are the famous glass flowers, models commissioned by Harvard in 1886 to aid in the teaching of botany (and made in Germany over the course of more than eight decades), on display in the Harvard Museum of Natural History.

The library’s pass admits up to 4 people with a 50% discount off regular admission rates to all four HMSC museums.   Full admission prices and hours vary by museum - check website before your visit. The library pass does not guarantee admission on a chosen date.

1.) Reserve your Melrose Public Library pass.  2.)  Pick up your pass at the Melrose Public Library (please bring your library card when checking out the pass).  3.) Bring the library pass to the museum on the day of your visit to receive the library discount on tickets.

LOAN INSTRUCTIONS: This coupon pass may be picked up at the library any time after your reservation is made and does not need to be returned to the library. Please bring your library card or ID when picking up the pass. Any applicable co-pay fees are collected at the museum.  Harvard Science Museums requires proof of MA residency or your MA library card when paying for your tickets at the museum.

Full admission prices and hours vary by museum.  Discounts are available for active military, SNAP, EIB, MA teachers, MA residents with IDs.

Mass Audubon maintains about 100 wildlife sanctuaries in Massachusetts, more than half of which may be visited for walks on trails and visits to nature centers and museums. Among these is Drumlin Farm in Lincoln, a working farm with animals and crops, plus exhibits that include native wildlife, such as owls, foxes and deer. A shop on the premises sells items related to nature, such as bird feeders and binoculars.

Mass Audubon Library Partner Admission Pass – Melrose Public Library

Please visit https://www.massaudubon.org/get-outdoors/wildlife-sanctuaries/trails for hours of operation and the latest information, including safety guidelines.  This is not a ticket. The library pass does not guarantee admission on a chosen date.  This one-day Library Partner Admission Pass admits up to 4 people to a Mass Audubon wildlife  sanctuary.  With this pass, admission is discounted to $2 per visitor over the age of 2.  Please note that some nature center buildings remain closed. This Admission Pass will not be accepted after April 30, 2024. Pass must be presented to Mass Audubon  staff upon arrival for your wildlife sanctuary visit.

This is not a ticket. 

(1)  This pass will admit up to 4 people at a 50% discount on tickets to the Museum’s Exhibit Halls. Children under 3 are not included in the count of 4 and are always admitted for free.

(2)  Your Library pass can only be used on the date printed on the pass.

(3)  Please bring your library pass confirmation (printed or displayed on a phone) when you visit.

(4)  When you arrive at the Museum, stop at the Box Office to exchange your library pass and purchase your Exhibit Halls tickets at the discounted rate. If you have any questions or would like to reserve your Exhibit Halls passes in advance to avoid waiting in line the day of your visit, please call 617-723-2500 (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily).

The New England Aquarium is home to thousands of aquatic animals, from the giant Pacific octopus to Northern fur seals to little blue penguins. They offer a wide range of exhibits, including a shark and ray touch tank and the Giant Ocean Tank, a four-story coral reef featuring hundreds of Caribbean animals. Built in 1680, the Paul Revere House is a National Historic Landmark located in Boston's North End. It is the oldest remaining house in the area and where the silversmith lived during the American Revolution when he made his famous midnight ride. The museum at this site is comprised of the house, the PierceHichborn house (built in 1711 and seen by guided tour only), and a visitor and education center that provides information about the life and times of Paul Revere. There is a gift shop on the premises.

The library’s pass admits 2 adults  and 2 children for free.  Paul Revere House museum visitor requirements and operating hours. A visit usually takes about 30 minutes.

LOAN INSTRUCTIONS: This returnable pass must be picked up at the library on the “day of use” or the day before. Please bring your library card or ID when picking up the pass. Return the pass to the Main Desk or the outside book drop before the library opens on its next scheduled day to allow other patrons to use the pass.
